MVP Gallery

2020/21: Martin Dostál

Credentials

Weakest of all league MVPs. Three assists did it for him, while 450 minutes of actions were enough for Hugo J. Bačkovský to crack the team's Top 3 on the season's MVP leaderboard. Dostál was a workhorse, though: he garnered 6 team of the week shortlist appearances along with overseeing 11 clean sheets from start to finish.

2021/22: Roman Květ

Credentials

Carrying Czech Footy's signature Chip on the shoulder the entire season, Květ continued to fly under the radar in the relegation-threatened campaign while making a significant jump from 73rd to 89th overall percentile among attacking midfielders, quietly putting together a prime offensive output that rivalled Adam Hložek.

2022/23: Jan Matoušek

Credentials

Culminating in a surprise national team call-up in June 2023, his winter move to Bohemians meant a big-time return to form for Jan Matoušek who was allowed to play more centrally after spending most of his Liberec stint stationed out wide. Recovering much of his light-footedness, he was pacing for 19 regular-season goals in the spring.

2023/24: Lukáš Hůlka

Credentials

Another one-eyed king in the land of the blind, with two decent candidates gone over the summer (Prekop, Beran). Had Jan Matoušek stayed healthy for a bigger chunk of the season, it would've been him — in this scenario, Hůlka's March move into midfield which brought a huge jump in form, punctuated by goals vs both "S", sealed the deal.

2024/25: Yusuf Helal

Credentials

Replacing David Puškáč up top, Abdulla Yusuf Helal took his 3 points and turned them into 11 (plus two indirect goal contributions). Only 7 players in the league added more expected points to their teams’ respective totals, with Yusuf — a 10-time team of the week nominee — sharing the same space with Ewerton, Šín or Chorý.
